Children go back to school starting today after a 6-month hiatus
The new academic year will officially start on September 14 this year.
After the first coronavirus infection was detected in Uzbekistan, on March 16, traditional educational processes were suspended and children began to study online at home.
According to the Ministry of Public Education, today, September 7, after a 6-month hiatus, 329 schools opened their doors to children.
Until September 5, the Centers for Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance studied the state of readiness of schools for the new academic year and conducted additional trainings for employees of educational institutions, which are still ongoing.

The relevant decision on the resumption of school activities is made by local councils of people’s deputies on the basis of the conclusion of the Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing.
The new academic year will officially start on September 14 this year.
According to a survey conducted by the Ministry of Public Education, 76% of 5,500,000 parents were in favor of continuing the education process in the traditional way, while 24% preferred to continue it remotely – through TV lessons.
