Uzbekistan ready to take part in joint research on testing the Russian coronavirus vaccine
Agency for Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing under the Health Ministry of Uzbekistan and Russian Rospotrebnadzor held a videoconference on combating the spread of the coronavirus infection and developing a vaccine against COVID-19.
“The Uzbek side expressed gratitude to Rospotrebnadzor for sending experts to the Republic and Russia’s assistance in combating the COVID-19 pandemic,” the Russian agency said.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current epidemiological situation in Russia and Uzbekistan, the conditions for lifting the restrictions, as well as the testing process of the vaccine EpiVakKorona developed by the State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology VECTOR. In particular, the Uzbek side expressed a desire to participate in joint research on the use of the vaccine after its registration.
The parties agreed to continue cooperation in preventing the spread of infectious diseases.
