Uzbekistan plans to start production of coronavirus vaccines
Uzbekistan plans to start local production of coronavirus vaccines, the Ministry of Health reports.
“Production of vaccines in the country is an important issue. It is being considered by our scientists and pharmaceutical manufacturers. If we successfully implement this, there will be no need to import a vaccine from foreign countries. Moreover, we may be able to help neighboring countries by exporting the vaccine, which in turn will allow achieving epidemiological stability in the region,” the report of the Ministry reads.
However, the department did not specify whether the vaccine would be locally developed.
Earlier, the Chinese Sinopharm Group had proposed to conduct the final phase of clinical trials of a coronavirus vaccine in Uzbekistan.
