Uzbekistan, UK discuss finding a peaceful solution to the Afghan crisis
On October 2, the Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom in Tashkent, Tim Torlot.

According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed the efforts of Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom to find a peaceful solution to the Afghan crisis and to implement various projects in the country.
“The British side expressed its appreciation for our country’s policy to facilitate the peace process and to integrate Afghanistan into regional political and economic processes that will contribute to the general settlement of the situation in the country and the restoration of its social and economic infrastructure,” the report of the foreign policy department says.
The sides expressed their mutual interest in continuing bilateral consultations on resolving the Afghan crisis.
