Abdulaziz Kamilov accepts credentials of Indian Ambassador
On October 14, Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov received credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India, Manish Prabhat.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kamilov welcomed the Ambassador, congratulated him on his appointment to this responsible post and wished him success in his work.
The parties discussed the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for their development in the political, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres. It was noted that Uzbek-Indian relations have reached a qualitatively new level of development.
“The parties exchanged views on the schedule of upcoming joint events. In particular, it was proposed to hold regular political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries. The meeting also focused on taking additional measures to prevent negative effects of the coronavirus pandemic on bilateral trade and economic relations, to further increase the volume of mutual trade turnover,” the report reads.
Another topic discussed with the Ambassador was the continuation of investment projects in the fields of medicine and pharmaceuticals, education and innovation. The sides expressed interest in restoring tourist exchanges between Uzbekistan and India and increasing the mutual tourist flow.
