Russia extradites Uzbek citizen accused of murder in Istanbul to Turkey
At the request of the Turkish side, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation has extradited a citizen of Uzbekistan accused of committing a murder in Istanbul for criminal prosecution.
In April 2016 in Istanbul, the accused, acting by prior conspiracy with other persons, committed a premeditated murder, the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) of the Russian Federation said.
After committing the crime, he fled from law enforcement agencies and was put on the wanted list.
“In connection with the establishment of his whereabouts on the territory of the Russian Federation, the PGO of the Republic of Turkey sent a request to the PGO of the Russian Federation to extradite the accused, which was satisfied,” the department noted.
The accused was taken to Turkey accompanied by the Turkish convoy, observing all security measures.
