Illegal traders selling 60 Remdesivir drugs for 60 million soums detained in Tashkent
In the capital’s Mirabad district, four men selling Remdesivir, a drug used to treat coronavirus, were detained during an operational event. The information service of the Main Transport Safety Department of the MIA told Kun.uz.
It is noted that on October 17, the Department received an appeal that Remdesivir, which is used to treat COVID-19 patients, was being sold for 1 million 350 thousand soums
On October 17, at about 19:30, during an operative event conducted by the Investigation Department, 4 men, living in Tashkent, were detained while selling 60 units of “Remdesivir for Injection 100mg” for 60 million soums to a “conditional buyer”. Medicines and 60 million soums were seized as material evidence. The case is being investigated.

“Illegal sales of drugs are causing a sharp rise in their prices. The real cost of Remdesivir is around 500,000 soums, and it should be sold only in pharmacies. Unfortunately, today there is a high demand for this drug, and some people are trying to sell it at a higher price, which is against the law,” Lieutenant Pokiza Khodjayeva, a senior inspector at the Main Transport Safety Department, said.
