Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposes holding International Expert Forum on nuclear disarmament
On October 30, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the Second International Forum for Northern Economic Cooperation, which was held in the city of Seoul in a videoconference format.

Delivering a speech at the meeting, Mirziyoyev separately highlighted Uzbekistan’s support for the active efforts of President Moon Jae-in to achieve lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula and regards them as an important contribution to ensuring regional and global security
“In Central Asia, we have accumulated unique experience in creating a nuclear-weapon-free zone. The corresponding treaty initiated by Uzbekistan went through a complex process of coordination among the participants, and it received essential guarantees from the major nuclear powers,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
For a broad exchange of experience, Mirziyoyev proposed to hold an International Expert Forum on nuclear disarmament and the creation of nuclear-weapon-free zones.
