Uzbekistan bans sale of high-grade flour without micronutrients
From April 1, 2021, Uzbekistan will ban the sale of high-grade flour without micronutrients, follows from the presidential decree “On additional measures to ensure healthy nutrition of the population”.
“From April 1, 2021, the sale of wheat flour of the first and the highest grades not enriched with micronutrients will be prohibited,” the document specifies.
Currently – since April 1, 2020 – Uzbekistan allows the import of only first grade wheat flour and edible salt enriched with micronutrients.
Since January 1, 2011, Uzbekistan is producing only micronutrient-enriched first-grade wheat flour and edible salt.
