Scandalous match between Neftchi and Turon: 5 people imprisoned for 15 days, criminal cases opened against 6 others

Five people, involved in mass brawls following the match between FC Neftchi and FC Turon in Fergana, have been sentenced to 15 days in prison.

According to the Investigation Department, as a result of the scuffle, the referees received various bodily injuries.

A criminal case under Article 277-3 (v) of the Criminal Code (hooliganism during public events) has been initiated by the Investigation Department of the Fergana regional DIA, and an investigation is underway.

Currently, 6 people are involved in the criminal case as suspects, and measures are being taken to identify 2 more.

In addition, 5 more citizens were charged under Article 183 (hooliganism) of the Administrative Responsibility Code.

“The investigation is ongoing and all perpetrators will be brought to justice,” the Investigation Department said in a statement.

It should be recalled that after the match between Neftchi and Turon, Neftchi players and fans attacked the referees. In particular, Jamshid Turakulov acrobatically kicked the chief referee, Shavkat Nasibullayev. He suffered facial injuries and bruises, while assistant referees Rishat Nugmanov and Doniyor Saylavov received various bodily injuries.

For information, winning the match, FC Turon secured a place in the Super League for the first time in its history. UFA and PFL are expected to make an official statement about the future of Neftchi, which is supposed to play in the play-offs.
