Tariffs for drinking water to increase in Namangan

Tariffs for drinking water supply and sewerage services will increase in the Namangan region from January 10, 2021, follows from the decision of the regional council of people’s deputies, approving the tariffs of the Namangan Water Supply LLC for drinking water and sewerage services.

It was noted that the tariffs are being increased in order to fully cover the costs of services and ensure the profitable operation of the Namangan Water Supply LLC.

New tariffs for drinking water and sewerage services for the population are as follows:

• 1 cubic meter of drinking water with a special surcharge (50 soums) costs 2600 soums;
• 1 cubic meter of wastewater with a special surcharge (50 soums) costs 750 soums.

In turn, for budget organizations and wholesale consumers, 1 cubic meter of water with VAT and the special surcharge is set at 3862.25 soums, 1 cubic meter of wastewater with VAT and special surcharge – 1,056.25 soums.

It was noted that by the March 4, 2019 decision of the regional khokim, for every 1 cubic meter of drinking water, a surcharge of 50 soums was introduced for all consumers. Collected funds are said to be directed to the Housing and Communal Services Development Fund of the Cabinet of Ministers. 

From January 10, debts will be calculated on the basis of new tariffs for services (according to the current tariff, the cost of drinking water in the Namangan region is around 1,200 soums per 1 cubic meter).

Earlier, it was proposed to sharply increase drinking water tariffs in the city of Tashkent.
