Ambassador of India notes Uzbekistan's active participation in establishing peace in Afghanistan
The Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, has met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India, Manish Prabhat.
According to the press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, during the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation in the direction of Afghanistan.
“The Indian side has been informed about the measures taken by Uzbekistan to facilitate the launch of a peaceful political process, implemented transport and communication projects in Afghanistan,” the reports notes.
The Ambassador of India emphasized the active participation of Uzbekistan in the establishment of a long-term and sustainable peace in Afghanistan, the rehabilitation of its socio-economic infrastructure and the promotion of inclusive inter-Afghan negotiations.
The parties also discussed the prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and India in the educational sphere, in particular through the educational center for Afghan citizens in Termez.
