Uzbekistan to open 13 central mosques with a total capacity of more than 43,000 in 2021 (photos)
According to the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, 256 mosques have been reconstructed and 308 of them have been overhauled in the last three years.
It was noted that currently 218 mosques are being reconstructed on the basis of a new project. Some of them will be completed this year.
According to the Muslim Board, the following central mosques will be commissioned in 2021.
1. “Khanabad” mosque

Address: Ohangaron city, Tashkent region
Capacity: 4,000 people
Architectural style: Eclectic
Commissioning date: August 2021
Additional facilities: conference hall, women’s ablution and prayer room.
2. “Akbarali ota” mosque

Address: Gulistan district, Syrdarya region
Capacity: 1,500 people
Architectural style: Octagon
Commissioning date: April 2021 (Ramadan)
Additional facilities: Library, spacious parking
3. “Khadji Abdullah al Ansari” mosque

Address: Oltiariq district, Fergana region
Capacity: 2,000 people
Architectural style: Eclectic
Commissioning date: December 2021
Additional facilities: Three-way access road, spacious parking
4. “Qorashbuva” mosque

Address: Kushtepa district, Fergana region
Capacity: 1,500 people
Architectural style: A new classic
Commissioning date: September 2021
5. “Utovli Eshon” mosque

Address: Tuprakkala district, Khorezm region
Capacity: 250 people
Architectural style: Traditional-historical
Commissioning date: May 2021 (Eid al-Fitr)
6. “Devonaboy” mosque

Address: Andijan city, Andijan region
Capacity: 15,000 people
Architectural style: Traditional-historical
Commissioning date: April 2021 (Ramadan)
7. “Abdulkhamid qori” mosque

Address: Khanabad city, Andijan region
Capacity: 3,000 people
Architectural style: Traditional-national
Commissioning date: September 2021
Additional facilities: Ablution and prayer room for women
8. “Sarimozor” mosque

Address: Boysun district, Surkhandarya region
Capacity: 5,000 people
Architectural style: Eclectic
Commissioning date: August 2021
Additional facilities: Conference hall, kitchen, ablution and prayer room for women
9. “Qilichbek qurgoncha” mosque

Address: Karshi city, Kashkadarya region
Capacity: 1,800 people
Architectural style: Eclectic
Commissioning date: December 2021
Additional facilities: Library, bookstore.
10. “Boymoqli” mosque

Address: Zaamin district, Jizzakh region
Capacity: 860 people
Architectural style: Octagon
Commissioning date: August 2021.
Additional facilities: Conference hall, library, separate ablution and prayer room for women.
11. “Dilkusho” mosque

Address: Bukhara city, Bukhara region
Capacity: 2,000 people
Architectural style: Historical-traditional
Commissioning date: March 2021
Additional facilities: Large library, a lounge for 2 people (hotel), prayer room for women
12. “Siroj Solikh” mosque

Address: Tashkent city, Almazar district
Capacity: 4,000 people
Architectural style: Eclectic
Commissioning date: April 2021 (Ramadan)
Additional facilities: Conference hall, video studio for website activities
13. “Kulol qurgon” mosque

Address: Yunusabad district, Tashkent city
Capacity: 3,500 people
Architectural style: Eclectic
Commissioning date: April 2021 (Ramadan)

Additional facilities: Barbershop, 30-35 indoor car park, bookstore, women’s ablution and prayer room
