Uzbekistan plans to introduce incentive pay for teachers who agree to work in remote schools with low quality of education
The presidential decree “On measures to attract qualified specialists to budget organizations in remote areas” has been adopted, the Justice Ministry reported.
According to the decree, from March 1, 2021, special bonuses will be introduced in the basic tariff rates for teachers of the higher and first category, who are attracted from other provinces to teach in schools where the quality of education is poor.
Reportedly, the followings will be paid additionally:
- 50% of the basic tariff rates for teachers who come from other districts and cities within one region;
- 100% special bonuses to the basic tariff rates of teachers coming from other provinces.
The list of schools with low quality of education is determined by the Ministry of Public Education and the State Inspectorate for Quality Control in Education. It will be published on the website of the ministry by February 15 this year and by September 1 of the next academic year.
