South Korean K-Water Academy to open a branch in Tashkent

Specialists of Uzsuvtaminot JSC held online negotiations with representatives of the K-Water Academy (South Korea) and consultants of the Asian Development Bank, the press service of the JSC reported.

The issue of opening a joint center, where workers of the drinking water supply and sewerage system will be able to improve their qualifications, was on the agenda of the meeting. 

The construction of this center will start in Tashkent in 2021. At the same time, the South Korean partners are ready to assist in the development of special training programs for employees of the sphere in the capital and regions, training of teachers.

In March 2020, the World Bank’s Board of Directors approved a $239 million loan to the government of Uzbekistan to develop the water supply system. The project will cover more than 500 thousand people in several regions of the country.
