Strengthening the quarantine has nothing to do with purchasing vaccines – Nurmat Otabekov
Today, March 17, a press conference was held at AIMC on the current situation with COVID-19 and preparation for vaccination.

As Kun.uz correspondent reports, at the briefing, representatives of the healthcare system were asked how the strengthening of quarantine rules is related to the process of selling the vaccine. According to Nurmat Otabekov, deputy head of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Surveillance and Public Health Service, there is no logic in such statements.
“It’s illogical to say that the situation is being exaggerated in order to purchase the vaccine. The disease is on the rise among children, and we plan to vaccinate those over 18 years of age,” Otabekov said.
Earlier, the head of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Surveillance and Public Health Service Bahodir Yusupaliyev said that Uzbekistan will not be limited to the AstraZeneca vaccine.
