Uzbekistan COVID-19 vaccination surpasses 108 thousand doses

The Ministry of Health says more than 25,000 people were vaccinated against coronavirus in Uzbekistan on April 9.

The total number of vaccinated in the country has reached 108,283.

“On April 9, a total of 25,207 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 in Tashkent and Nukus, as well as in regional centers,” the ministry said.

Uzbekistan is using AstraZeneca and ZF-UZ-VAC 2001 vaccines to vaccinate the population.

Reportedly, under the COVAX program, 2 million doses of AstraZeneca and 3.5 million doses of ZF-UZ-VAC 2001 vaccines are planned to be delivered to Uzbekistan in May-June this year.

Also, the Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Service is signing an agreement on the purchase of 1 million doses of Sputnik V vaccine from the Russian Federation.
