Syrdarya region introduces health insurance system
From July 1, 2021, until the end of 2022, the health system of Syrdarya region introduces a new state medical insurance system, which will be a pilot test project.
According to the Ministry of Health, the new system introduced in Syrdarya will, firstly, improve the quality and volume of medical services provided to the population, and secondly, increase the life expectancy.
The first stage will be implemented as an experiment in medical institutions of Syrdarya region, the second stage – in 2023 in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Samarkand, Navoi, Surkhandarya, Fergana regions and Tashkent city, the third stage – in 2025 throughout the country.
The pilot project will be implemented in the region by the end of 2022 and consists of 5 components. These include improving healthcare delivery, health management, system funding, digitalization and project management. The introduction of public health insurance and the planned reforms will allow the population to receive better medical services as part of the state-guaranteed package.
