Tashkent and Washington prepare first meeting of strategic partnership dialogue
Earlier, the governments of Uzbekistan and the United States decided to expand the format of annual regular contacts to the level of strategic partnership dialogue.
The authorities of Uzbekistan and the United States plan to hold the first dialogue of strategic partnership in Tashkent by the end of June, said spokesman and official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Kabuljonov.
“The organization of the first meeting of the strategic partnership dialogue between Uzbekistan and the United States in Tashkent is on the agenda,” he reported at a briefing on Wednesday.
In May 2018, during the first official visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States, the parties signed a joint political statement “Uzbekistan - USA: the beginning of a new era of strategic partnership”.
In November 2020, following the results of the Uzbek-American political consultations in Washington, a joint statement was adopted stating that the governments of the two countries had decided to expand the format of annual regular contacts to the level of strategic partnership dialogue.
