Uzbek diaspora in Seattle forms officially registered community association
Uzbek nationals living in the U.S. city of Seattle have established the “Seattle Uzbek Community” association, which has been officially registered by the state of Washington.
According to the organizers, more than 3,000 Uzbek citizens and people of Uzbek origin currently live in Washington State. Many are employed in the technology, engineering, aviation, healthcare, and business sectors.
Musa Kholmurodov, a native of Uzbekistan's Khorezm region, was elected chairman of the Uzbek community association. The organization aims to preserve Uzbek cultural traditions, strengthen ties among members of the diaspora, and assist newly arrived immigrants as they settle in the United States.

The establishment of the association follows Uzbekistan's efforts to expand its diplomatic presence in the U.S. In March 2026, Akhror Burkhanov was appointed as Uzbekistan's first Consul General in Seattle.
