Uzbekistan, Norway eye to intensify political and inter-parliamentary dialogue, strengthen trade relations
Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fazilov held a videoconference meeting with the State Secretary of the Foreign Ministry of Norway, Audun Halvorsen.
During the talks, the parties discussed the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for Uzbek-Norwegian cooperation, as well as the situation in Central Asia and Afghanistan.
Particular attention was paid to the intensification of political and inter-parliamentary dialogue, trade, economic and investment cooperation.
It was noted that the assessments of the situation and the approaches of the two countries to solving the problem of Afghanistan completely coincide, which is largely due to the productive cooperation of Oslo and Tashkent in this direction.
An exchange of views took place on certain issues of interaction between Uzbekistan and Norway within the framework of international organizations.
Audun Halvorsen congratulated the Uzbek side on the adoption of the UN General Assembly resolution on declaring the Aral Sea region a zone of environmental innovations and technologies.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the talks.
