Central Bank leaves refinancing rate unchanged
The Central Bank’s refinancing rate remains unchanged at 14% per annum.
According to the decision of the CB Board of June 10, 2021, the refinancing rate was left unchanged at 14% per annum.
For information, the refinancing rate of the regulator was approved at the beginning of 2018 at 14%. In 2019, this rate rose up to 16%.
According to the decision of the extraordinary meeting of April 14, 2020, the refinancing rate of the Central Bank was reduced by 1 percentage point and set at 15% per annum. Under the pandemic and quarantine conditions, this rate did not change. At the end of the year, the refinancing rate was set at 14%.
The refinancing rate was also left unchanged at the meetings of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank on January 21, 2021 and March 22, 2021.
The highest refinancing rate in the history of Uzbekistan was observed in 1995, when the refinancing rate reached 300%. After that, the refinancing rate declined until 2017, and it became 9% on June 27.
