Uzbekistan, Qatar sign an agreement on air services
On June 9, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, who arrived in Tashkent on an official visit.
This is the first official visit of the head of the Foreign Ministry of Qatar to Uzbekistan.
During the negotiations, the state and prospects for the development of Uzbek-Qatari relations in the political, trade-economic, investment, transport-communication and cultural-humanitarian spheres, interaction of the parties within the framework of international structures were discussed.
The schedule and organizational aspects of the upcoming official meetings at various levels were considered.
The sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue joint efforts to advance the peace process in Afghanistan and restore its socio-economic infrastructure.
As a result of the negotiations, an Agreement was signed between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the State of Qatar “On Air Communication”, providing for the opening of direct flights on the Doha-Tashkent-Doha route.
