Coronavirus: Number of daily cases nears 500 in Uzbekistan
The Ministry of Health reported that 476 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Uzbekistan over the past day, and two patients died.
“On June 24, 2021, the number of registered coronavirus infection cases in Uzbekistan is 108,184 (+476),” the report reads.
This is a record figure for 2021.
Reportedly, 135 new cases were registered in the city of Tashkent, 12 – in Karakalpakstan, 14 – in Andijan, 18 – in Bukhara, 29 – in Jizzakh, 12 – in Kashkadarya, 4 – in Navoi, 10 – in Namangan, 89 – in Samarkand, 8 – in Syrdarya, 35 – in Surkhandarya, 40 – in Fergana, 21 – in Khorezm and 49 – in Tashkent region.
The number of recovered stands at 104,007 (+535), and the recovery rate – at 96%.
Also, 2 coronavirus patients died, bringing the official death toll to 725.
Currently, 3,452 patients are being treated in hospitals.
