From January 1 to June 30, 56,244 pedestrians were fined for violating traffic rules in Tashkent. This was reported by the press service of the Central Internal Affairs Department of the capital.
They faced administrative charges under article 138 of the Code of Administrative Liability.
In addition, law enforcement officers held preventive conversations with citizens, explaining the high risks of a traffic accident and possible fatal outcomes.
It is noted that majority of violators chose to cross the roadway in the wrong place, refusing to travel additional 200-300 meters to pedestrian crossing and spend about five minutes on this.
