Speed limit for passenger cars reduced on Kamchik Pass
The maximum speed limit for passenger cars on the Kamchik Pass has been reduced from 100 km/h to 80 km/h.
According to the Kamchik Special Rescue Department, the revised traffic rules apply only to passenger vehicles. The speed limit for trucks remains unchanged at 50 km/h.
The department urged drivers of both private and official vehicles to take the new restrictions into account when traveling through the pass and to comply strictly with the updated speed limit.
Authorities have also stepped up enforcement along the mountain route by expanding the use of automated photo and video traffic monitoring systems.
The department warned that exceeding the set speed limit may result in penalty points being added to a driver's record as well as monetary fines.
Drivers were also reminded to observe all traffic regulations to help ensure the safety of road users on one of Uzbekistan's most challenging mountain highways.
