Coronavirus and pneumonia: Health Ministry reports nearly 1,400 new cases

According to the Ministry of Health, the total number of registered coronavirus cases has reached 143,918 (+877).

Reportedly, 194 COVID-19 cases were registered in the city of Tashkent, 81 – in Karakalpakstan, 34 – in Andijan, 20 – in Bukhara, 65 – in Jizzakh, 20 – in Kashkadarya, 21 – in Navoi, 42 – in Namangan, 90 – in Samarkand, 22 – in Syrdarya, 87 – in Surkhandarya, 76 – in Fergana, 32 – in Khorezm and 93 – in Tashkent region.

5 COVID-19 patients died yesterday, the official death toll – 981.

As of August 15, the number of recovered stands at 136,572 (+708).

Also, 479 people tested positive for pneumonia on Monday, bringing the total number of cases to 18,395. According to the Ministry of Health, 475 of them recovered yesterday (10,977 in total).

3 pneumonia patients died on August 15, and to date, the number of deaths from pneumonia is 123.
