Tashkent metro changes its working schedule

With the expansion of the Tashkent metro and the opening of its new lines in densely populated areas of the capital, the passenger traffic has doubled.

As the press-service of the Uzbekistan Railways JSC reported, Tashkent metro has organized the work of the rolling stock on the basis of available capacity and facilities, train schedule changed a bit. During rush hours, crowds of passengers began to be observed on the platforms of the Tashkent metro stations and in rolling stock.

“To resolve this issue, contracts were concluded for the supply of new modern metro cars. It was recently announced that in the very near future new and modern 20 metro cars will arrive in Tashkent, from which 5 trains will be formed, which will serve as a significant unloading of the Chilanzar line. In fact, it has the largest passenger traffic. By the end of this year, another 20 metro cars of this modification will be delivered to Tashkent,” the statement says.

Meanwhile, a new academic year will soon begin for schoolchildren and students due to the expected increase in passenger traffic on the metro and the need to change the train schedule, as well as to prepare for the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan and numerous requests from passengers. Starting from August 30, a new schedule of train movement along the lines will be introduced, namely, the interval of train movement will be reduced:
