Power outages being scheduled in Uzbekistan
In the city of Tashkent and other regions of Uzbekistan, the authorities and enterprises of electric networks have started to announce the schedules of specific interruptions in the electricity supply. Temporary shutdowns are said to be carried out only in cases of necessity.
In all districts of Tashkent, electricity can be turned off for 2 hours a day. On December 13, the Tashkent city branch of “Regional Electricity Networks” published information in PDF format about the time interval in which electricity supply may be interrupted in all districts of the capital.
“As the temperature cools, the need for energy sources will increase significantly, including the demand for electricity. In order to prevent the occurrence of major emergency situations in the public energy system, it requires the dispatching services to take measures aimed at maintaining the balance of consumption. Also, the urgent issue before the employees of the sector is the provision of stable electricity to the population and social objects, systematic work is being carried out in this regard in the regions.
In order to fulfill the task of consumption set for the city of Tashkent during high consumption periods, to prevent the stoppage of technological processes in production, to maintain the balance of production and consumption of electricity, and to eliminate irregular interruptions in the supply of consumers, short-term restrictions on the supply of electricity will be introduced only in the case of an emergency in the regions of the capital in agreement with the district administrations,” the report said.
It is added that these restriction schedules are valid only in case of an emergency, to prevent accidents due to extreme cooling of the weather, and to increase the consumption.
Below are the shutdown schedules in the city of Tashkent in the section of districts:
— Almazar district;
— Bektemir district;
— Mirabad district;
— Mirzo Ulugbek district;
— Sergeli district;
— Uchtepa district;
— Chilanzar district;
— Shaykhantakhur district;
— Yakkasaray district;
— Yangihayat district;
— Yashnabad district.
No schedule has been announced yet for the Yunusabad district.
If there is no power supply for more than 2 hours, citizens are asked to call 1154.
Earlier, Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov informed about the beginning of the announcement of schedules for power outages in the regions of Uzbekistan.
