Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Emomali Rahmon discuss trade-economic relations, exchange views on the current situation in Afghanistan
On September 8, Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
According to the presidential press service, Mirziyoyev cordially congratulated the president and the people of Tajikistan on the 30th anniversary of the country's independence, expressed sincere wishes for peace, well-being, great success and prosperity.
Topical issues of further expanding the Uzbek-Tajik multifaceted cooperation, primarily in the trade and economic sphere, were discussed during the talks, the press service said.
In addition, the presidents reviewed the preparations for the upcoming meetings of the SCO Council of Heads of State on September 16-17 this year in Dushanbe and also exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan.
It was also agreed that the leaders will hold a separate meeting on the bilateral and regional agenda as part of the upcoming SCO summit.
