Uzbekistan exempts natural gas imports from customs duties

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on measures to further stimulate geological exploration works and improve the taxation procedure for subsoil users.
The document established that from October 1, 2021, when selling natural gas for export, the excise tax rate is set at zero percent, when importing natural gas into the territory of Uzbekistan, legal entities are exempt from customs duties.
In addition, legal entities carrying out geological exploration work, as well as contractors and subcontractors attracted by them, are exempted from periodic customs payments for the temporary import of special equipment necessary for carrying out exploration work, for the period of prospecting, exploration and development of deposits, as well as customs duties for import equipment produced in Uzbekistan, material and technical resources and special equipment necessary for carrying out work on prospecting, exploration and development of deposits according to the lists formed in the prescribed manner.
