Doniyor Ganiyev, a deputy of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, said that when buying a car from the secondary market, the amount of state fees and charges for notarization and registration in Traffic Department is high. Thus, he sent a request to the Ministry of Finance to reconsider the rates of state duties and fees in the formation of the parameters of the state budget for 2022.

“Today I received a response to my request from the Ministry of Finance. In response, it was stated that, taking into account the issues raised in the survey, the Ministry of Finance intends to abolish the fees charged for the purchase of vehicles in the formation of the budget parameters for 2022.

This means that the payment of several million soums by the citizen for registering the purchased vehicle in the Traffic Department, depending on the horsepower and date of manufacture of the vehicle, will be canceled,” the deputy wrote.

In addition, the letter said that the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Justice have revised the amount of state fees for notarization of car sales contracts and are working on a bill to amend the law “On State Duties” to reduce duties.

“We hope that the reduction of duties and taxes will allow our citizens to register their cars not through power of attorney, which has a negative impact on property rights and civil relations, but through a notarized contract of sale,” MP Doniyor Ganiyev said.

Earlier, Kun.uz published articles about a long-standing problem – the need to reconsider the duties on the registration of old cars, the high cost of registration of a car from the secondary market, as well as the risks of notarization as a secret purchase and a relatively cheap general power of attorney.
