Energy Ministry: 3.8 billion soums worth of natural gas was stolen by consumers in 22 days
On October 1-22, 2021, specialists from the Ministry of Energy studied the use of natural gas by wholesale consumers in various regions of Uzbekistan.

As a result, about 228 cases of illegal use of gas were recorded, the Energy Ministry said.
During the reporting period, 4 million 278 thousand cubic meters of natural gas were used illegally. The damage caused to the gas supplying organization amounted to 3 billion 832 million soums. This amount of natural gas, for comparison, is currently consumed by 427,830 households in one day.
In aggregate, this volume can make up the daily consumption of all households in Namangan and Andijan regions.
The largest number of cases of illegal use of natural gas was registered in Namangan, Khorezm and Tashkent regions.
The collected materials and other documents were sent to law enforcement agencies for a legal assessment
