Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan discuss border demarcation issues
Government delegations of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan held meetings in Dushanbe from October 25 to 30, 2021, on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border.
The parties discussed topographic issues.
The next meeting of the parties is planned to be held in Kyrgyzstan.
To note, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have so far demarked only 504 km of the 976-km border, and uncertainty about the boundary line causes some conflicts in the adjacent area. In the last large conflict in April-May 2021, more than 50 people were killed and almost 300 were injured from both sides.
