Uzbekistan and EU discuss providing humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan
The Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev held talks in Brussels with the EU Special Envoy for Afghanistan Tomas Niklasson, the MFA press service reported.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the efforts of Uzbekistan and the European Union to peacefully resolve the Afghan crisis, as well as to provide the country with humanitarian and other assistance as soon as possible.
Tomas Niklasson highly appreciated the assistance of Uzbekistan in evacuating citizens of the EU member states from Afghanistan and expressed interest in further strengthening cooperation with our country in the Afghan direction, as well as in creating a humanitarian hub in Termez.
The sides expressed mutual interest in continuing consultations on the Afghan issue.
