According to the president, in Almalyk, gold reserves of more than 5 thousand tons have been confirmed. In comparison, reserves in Muruntau amount to around 3 thousand tons.
The field occupies a fairly large area – 11 thousand hectares and is considered one of the largest in terms of the volume of explored reserves. It contains 13 types of precious and rare metals such as gold, copper, silver, molybdenum and selenium. For their processing at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine, a third copper-processing plant is being built.
“Today I gave a new order. Here we will open two more new facilities. If earlier only two enterprises worked in Almalyk, now there will be five of them. We will open the third copper-processing plant in 2023 during the celebration of Independence Day,” Mirziyoyev said.
