Uzbekistan GTL plant launched

The Uzbekistan GTL plant for the production of synthetic liquid fuels has been launched in Kashkadarya region. The plant will be fully operational on March 1, 2022.

The head of state Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke about the unique technological advantages of the plant and its features that distinguish it from other industrial projects in the country.

In particular, such a large complex has so far been built in only 4 countries in the world – Qatar, Nigeria, South Africa and Malaysia. More than 13,000 engineers and construction workers were involved in the construction of the complex at the same time. The plant has installed more than 10,000 pieces of equipment manufactured by about 130 leading companies in 24 countries, including Japan, Korea, Singapore, the United States, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Russia and China. 140 international licenses and patents have been obtained for the use of technological solutions, equipment and processes in production.

The President thanked all the engineers and builders involved in the construction of the plant, as well as foreign partners who assisted in the implementation of the project.

“The GTL plant and the Shurtan gas-chemical complex expansion projects are one of our first major steps towards creating a new industrial era in New Uzbekistan.

No matter how difficult it is, we have learned to work and live with the goal of making our country one of the developed countries and creating a decent standard of living for our people.

In these happy moments, when the New Year is knocking on our door, I pay tribute to our hardworking, courageous and noble people, the enthusiastic and dedicated workers of industry, who are the creators and builders of all our achievements,” the President said.
