Police find corpse of a newborn in a landfill in Urgench
On January 1, the body of a newborn child was found in one of the garbage cans in Urgench, the Khorezm regional prosecutor’s office reported.
The results of the forensic medical examination showed that the baby was born prematurely and this was the cause of death.
During the check, no injuries were found on the baby’s body. However, the remains of mifepristone, a drug used to end a pregnancy, were detected in the blood and placenta.
Prosecutors are investigating the case. The identity of the mother has not yet been established.
