Administrative case opened against Firdavs Abdukholikov

The Prosecutor General’s Office has opened an administrative case against Firdavs Abdukholikov, director of the Cinematography Agency. He is suspected of giving state orders to Sevimli TV, which was founded by his wife, daughter and son. Abdukholikov could be fined a maximum of 8.1 million soums.
An administrative case has been opened against Firdavs Abdukholikov, director general of the Cinematography Agency, and his family members for placing government orders for Sevimli TV, Gazeta.uz reported referring to the PGO press secretary Khayot Shamsutdinov.
“According to the documents submitted by the Prosecutor General’s Office by the Anti-Corruption Agency, on January 25, a case was initiated against the director general of the Cinematography Agency under Part 4 of Article 175-8 (violation of public procurement legislation) of the Administrative Responsibility Code,” the report reads.
According to this article, Firdavs Abdukholikov can be fined from 20 (5.4 million soums) to 30 BCAs (8.1 million soums).
The Prosecutor General’s Office sent the documents to the Chilanzar district court on criminal proceedings for consideration.
If the court finds Firdavs Abdukholikov guilty, it will be the first time a high-ranking civil servant has been prosecuted for a conflict of interest.
