The deepening logistical challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic have highlighted the need for new shipping routes. On this background, the companies have established cooperation for the supply of goods in containers from China.
The first container train organized under this partnership departed from the Chinese port of Qingdao. On January 30, it left the Cape Churkin station of the Far Eastern Railway and began moving towards Uzbekistan.
According to calculations, the way of the container train to Chukursay station will take 11-12 days. The train includes 70 standard 40-foot containers loaded with consumer goods.
Earlier, the creation of a joint Uzbek-Russian company for railway transportation between Russia, China and Central Asia was announced.
RJD Biznes Aktiv is a multimodal container operator specializing in organizing container transportation within Russia and export-import deliveries to Asia and Europe. The sole shareholder of the company is a subsidiary of Russian Railways – RJD Logistics.
