Uzbekistan imports third Hyundai Rotem high-speed train from South Korea
Uzbekistan has imported its third Hyundai Rotem high-speed passenger train from South Korea, JSC Temiryulkargo announced on June 21.
The logistics company managed the entire transportation process of the massive train, delivering it directly from the manufacturer's factory to its final destination using a door-to-door approach.
According to transport officials, integrating these modern high-speed trains into the national rail network is expected to elevate passenger transport services to a new level and significantly boost domestic tourism.

The delivery is part of a broader fleet expansion project. The first train in this series left the port of Masan in Changwon, South Korea, on December 10, 2025, and arrived in Uzbekistan in February 2026. Named "Jaloliddin Manguberdi," the seven-car train measures 175 meters in length and can carry nearly 390 passengers across three service classes – VIP, business, and economy. With a maximum operating speed of up to 260 kilometers per hour, this initial train began regular operations on the Tashkent – Urgench – Khiva route in May.

Minister of Transport Ilhom Mahkamov previously stated that Uzbekistan will purchase a total of six high-speed trains from Hyundai Rotem. The deployment of the first train on the Tashkent – Urgench – Khiva route has already cut travel time nearly in half, reducing the journey from 14 hours to 7.5 hours.
The Ministry of Transport is currently working to expand the high-speed rail network further, with plans to deploy the incoming Hyundai Rotem trains on routes connecting Tashkent to Andijan and Termez.
