Russian blogger detained at Bukhara airport over a drone issue released
The Russian Embassy in Uzbekistan provided information on the situation.
Earlier, Russian travel blogger Maxim Lymar was reported to have been arrested at Bukhara airport due to a drone in his luggage.
According to the press service of the Russian Embassy in Uzbekistan, Lymar has been released from house arrest.
It is reported that he plans to return to Novosibirsk on February 9, 2022.
“We thank the Uzbek side for the prompt resolution of this issue,” the statement said.
It should be noted that according to the current legislation of Uzbekistan, the illegal import, sale, purchase, storage or use of unmanned aerial vehicles is punishable by up to 3 years in prison.
