Allowance for students who lost their breadwinners now to be provided until the age of 23
On February 9, the President signed the Law “On Amendments and Addenda to Certain Legislative Acts of Uzbekistan in connection with the further strengthening of guarantees of the rights of citizens and business entities.”
According to the Ministry of Justice, allowances for people with disabilities will now be paid to people with Group III disabilities who suffered from the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Previously, it was paid only to people with Group I and Group II disabilities.
Also, students under the age of 23 can now receive allowances during their studies (previously, the age limit was 18).
The period of adding parental leave to the length of service is set at 6 years. Previously, a period of no more than 3 years was applied.
