Uzbekistan to raise pensions, allowances, and stipends by 7% from July 1
Pensions and social security benefits in Uzbekistan are set to rise by 7% next month, ahead of a secondary wave of nationwide salary and stipend increases scheduled for this autumn.
The state-backed financial adjustment rolls out in consecutive phases. Beginning July 1, 2026, baseline retirement payouts and welfare allowances will expand by 7%. This tier specifically covers old-age pensions, disability pensions, and low-income family assistance managed through the state-run Social Register.
The upcoming July indexation establishes the monthly minimum old-age retirement pension at UZS 983,000, while the baseline disability pension will be anchored at UZS 1,083,000. Concurrently, the base value used strictly for calculating pensions will adjust upward to UZS 504,000 per month.
Welfare stipends distributed to vulnerable families enrolled in the Social Register will see proportional adjustments on July 1. Monthly childcare allocations for a single child under the age of 3 will grow to UZS 386,000, while the baseline support for a child between the ages of 3 and 18 will increase to UZS 295,000. Under the revised rules, larger households will receive a monthly top-up of UZS 177,000 for a second child and UZS 118,000 for the third and each subsequent child. Standard material assistance for registered low-income households will be set at UZS 450,000 per month.
The second phase of the decree takes effect on September 1, 2026, introducing a parallel 7% bump to the monthly salaries of public sector employees and university students receiving state stipends.
Furthermore, the late-autumn adjustments will update key economic indicators used for calculating national financial metrics. The national minimum wage will increase to UZS 1,360,000 per month. Simultaneously, the base calculating amount, which serves as the benchmark for computing administrative fines, state duties, licensing fees, and various business taxes across the republic, will be indexed upward by 6.8% to reach UZS 440,000.
