Sugar prices on stock exchange drop
Following the results of open exchange trading at UZEX on March 18, the average daily price for all categories of sugar decreased by 15% per ton compared to the previous trading day.

According to the information service of the UZEX platform, a total of 2,100 tons of sugar were put up for sale on the last trading day. 1,200 tons of sugar were sold by Khorezm Shakar LLC and 900 tons by Angren Shakar LLC.
As a result of open trading on March 18, the average daily price for all categories of sugar decreased by 15.3% compared to the previous trading day – from 11 million 921.9 thousand soums to 10 million 101.3 thousand soums per ton.
The number of buyers who took part in the auctions of the sugar exchange reached 267, which is 32% more than on March 17, and three times more than on March 1.
Depending on the level of demand for the purchase of sugar, a proportional distribution has been formed between the regions. The leading provinces are the city of Tashkent and Tashkent region (30%), followed by Samarkand (12%), Kashkadarya and Khorezm (10%), Andijan and Bukhara regions (8%).
