Entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan discuss practical aspects of expanding trade-economic and investment cooperation in Almaty
Yesterday at the Almaty office of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan “Atameken”, a meeting was held with the director of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Almaty, Aytuar Koshmambetov, on the issue of further expansion of the Uzbek-Kazakh trade-economic and investment cooperation.
During the meeting, the high level of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, the dynamic development of trade, the parties’ intention to increase trade turnover in the next five years to $10 billion, the expansion of industrial cooperation on the example of successfully implemented projects in the textile, automotive, mining, construction and other industries were noted.
The parties emphasized the great potential for further enhancing cooperation in priority areas, including the development of wholesale distribution centers and joint agricultural clusters. In this context, the need was noted for creating a platform through which representatives of the business circles of the two countries could exchange ideas and project proposals, discuss practical issues related to the implementation of export-import operations.
The Kazakh side invited representatives of the Consulate General to take part on May 14 at a meeting of the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan “Atameken” Raimbek Batalov with representatives of the Almaty business community, during which topical issues of entrepreneurship related to foreign economic activity will be discussed.
An agreement was also reached on organizing business forums with the participation of representatives of Uzbek exporting companies and their potential business partners in Kazakhstan, presenting investment opportunities for members of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Almaty.
