Passenger train services between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to resume from May 15

The Nukus-Beyneu-Nukus route will be launched on May 15, and the Almaty-2 – Tashkent – Almaty-2 route will be launched on May 16. The trips will be operated three times a week.

Uzbekistan Railways JSC has announced the resumption of passenger train services in coordination with Kazakhstan Railways.

On May 15, the passenger train 647/648 Nukus – Beyneu – Nukus will start operating.

From May 16, the train No. 1/2 (“Tulpar-Talgo”) will be launched en route Almaty-2 – Tashkent – Almaty-2.

The frequency of these trips is 3 times a week from the “Tashkent-Central” station.

Tickets can be purchased electronically and via the railway ticket offices. To cross the border into Kazakhstan, an e-ticket must be printed on A4 paper.

“Resumption of railway transportations with other neighboring countries is expected to be gradually implemented by agreement of the parties,” the report said.

It should be recalled that passenger train services from Uzbekistan to foreign countries were suspended in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
