China to provide $37.5 million in grant assistance for socially significant projects in Uzbekistan
On May 24, Aziz Voitov, First Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan, and Jiang Yan, Chinese Ambassador to Tashkent, signed an agreement on technical and economic cooperation between the two governments.
In accordance with the agreement, the Chinese government will provide 250 million yuan ($37.5 million) of gratuitous financial assistance for the joint implementation of socially significant projects in Uzbekistan.
To date, projects in the fields of health, education, agriculture and water management, culture, transport and others have been implemented within the framework of technical and economic cooperation between the two countries.
