Constitutional commission holds its first meeting
On May 26, the first meeting of the Constitutional Commission on the formation of proposals for amendments to the Constitution and the implementation of organizational measures was held.

According to the press service of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, the meeting discussed the work on the formation of proposals for amendments and additions to the Constitution, as well as the development of relevant proposals.
It was noted that when implementing constitutional reforms, the fundamental law should reflect such principles as “man – society – state”, “New Uzbekistan – social state”, “Human interests – the main criterion for economic reforms”, “Society – the initiator of reforms”.
It was noted that over the past period, the Commission has received many proposals for the development of science, education, culture, healthcare, tourism, agriculture, ecology, protection of private property, judicial and other areas. Given the importance and relevance, as well as the amount of work to receive, summarize, process and timely implement proposals for amendments and additions to the Constitution, the Commission also considered the activities of the groups.
At the meeting, issues of organizing the work of the commission, the composition of working groups, as well as measures to receive, generalize and respond to proposals for amendments and additions to the Constitution were considered.
It was emphasized that at present, the press service of the Constitutional Commission, the group for working with the proposals of the commission have set important goals, identified priority tasks for summarizing the proposals of research organizations, scientists, specialists and the general public, and the conclusions of experts.
Particular attention was paid to involving the general public in the work of the Constitutional Commission, ensuring the participation of all segments of the population in this process, the formation of proposals from citizens and the implementation of organizational measures.
It was noted that along with this, the press service of the commission should take necessary measures to explain the need for constitutional reforms, priority and main directions of constitutional innovations to citizens in a simple and accessible language. In addition, information was provided on a special information platform operating on the basis of the main idea “Society – the initiator of reforms”.
Following the meeting, an appropriate decision was made on the effective organization of the commission’s activities.
