Uzbekistan temporarily bans vegetable oil exports
A presidential decree “On additional measures to ensure price stability in the consumer market and increase the effectiveness of antimonopoly measures” has been adopted.

According to the document, from June 1, 2022, the export of the following products is temporarily prohibited:
- vegetable oil, including cottonseed and sunflower oil;
- sunflower seeds (TIF TD code 1206 00) and seeds and fruits of other oilseeds (TIF TD code 1207), unless otherwise provided by law.
The Cabinet of Ministers has the right to resume the export of goods specified in this paragraph, provided that there is a sufficient amount (volume) of these goods in the domestic market.
Until January 1, 2023:
- restrictions on the purchase by state customers of imported food products as part of public procurement, provided for by the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers dated January 29, 2021 “On measures to support domestic producers” will be on hold;
- the procedure for mandatory labeling of food products imported into Uzbekistan in the state language will be suspended.
